ALASKALASKA are an outlier. In a culture where genre lines are increasingly blurred, the previously tribal worlds that divided music largely disbanded, the South London group, headed by Lucinda Duarte-Holman and Fraser Rieley, feel sent from a not-so- distant future – one where freeform expression trumps any need for categorisation.

Following the release of the lockdown inspired album ‘Still Life’ several tracks were remixed. The visuals we developed for the album played on the absurdity and mundanity of lockdown with graphics built from receipts and stacked fruit stickers. The remixes continued this theme and took the fruit themselves into the absurdist reality we experiences in 2020. I wanted to create visceral imagery that felt like you could taste it, suggestive and intriguing. How do we take things we see on a daily basis and make them extraordinary.
