THE PROJECT

London explodes with a fresh sound as An Alien Called Harmony – a project by poet/rapper Nadeem Din-Gabisi and multi-talented MettaShiba – just dropped their self-titled debut EP. This genre-bending offering is a sonic adventure, blending London's streetwise energy with a kaleidoscope of influences. Imagine a message in a bottle from another galaxy, filled with hopeful observations and profound questions about our world. Across five Brainfeeder-inspired tracks, An Alien Called Harmony offers a socially conscious perspective akin to Shabazz Palaces, all wrapped in love and empathy. Expect playful soundscapes, spontaneous improvisation, and a healthy dose of philosophical musing.

"We are constantly searching for ways to make a better world through questioning ourselves, our fellow humans and the things we build and destroy.”

This was a very fun and abstract concept album, and I wanted the graphic story that accompanied the project to match the content. Playing with the merging of shadows, blurring and ink like blots seeping across the work. Text melding and melting together to form abstract alien shapes. Marrying similar colours to create subtle background textures and movements. Otherworldly designs developed across the campaign.
